8&Under Time Trials Sunday, March 12th at 6pm & 7pm Sessions

Hello Sunday Night Swim Parents,

We will be conducting a time trial for all 8 & under swimmers on Sunday, March 12th at the 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM sessions.  All 9 and over swimmers will be in their regular practice session.  8&U swimmers will resume normal practice after completion of the time trial.

Swimmers will be completing three events: a 25 yard freestyle, a 25 yard backstroke and one minute of treading water.  The results from the time trials will be emailed to you the following week, before the Swim Team and School of Fish registration date (March 20th).  The results from the 2016 Official 8&U Time Trial, which occurs in mid-June, will also be included in the forthcoming email.  This will allow you to compare the current results from your swimmer as well as the results from swimmers last summer who were on Swim Team and School of Fish.

We recognize that it is often difficult to make this decision and our goal is to give you as much information as possible.   We are hoping that these time trial results will make registration easier for you.  The requirements for Swim Team and School of Fish are included below, as per the updated 2017 Overlee Handbook.  As the time trial will likely not take up the full session, we will be continuing with our regular practice session after the time trial is completed.  If you are not sure which group to sign your 8&U up for, please have your child attend this time trial session on Sunday, March 12th.
