Board Elections- Nominating Committee Seeks Board Candidates
With the approach of the Overlee Community Association’s annual meeting in February, a nominating committee has been formed to recruit and recommend a slate of candidates to the general membership for election to the Board. The slate of candidates–along with a ballot–will be published in the January newsletter. Members (one ballot per household) have an opportunity to vote in two ways: either by returning the ballot via mail or by attending the Annual Membership Meeting and voting in person. There will be four (4) open Board seats up for vote at the Annual Meeting.
The nominating committee is seeking Association members who would be interested in serving on the Board. Board members act as the governing body for the Association and a description of the Board’s roles and responsibilities can be found on the web in our Bylaws.
The Board of Directors holds a regular meeting once a month. In addition, each Board member is responsible for overseeing an aspect of the Association’s operations, activities or facilities that require work outside the monthly meetings. Board members also serve on board committees that examine, discuss and recommend policies or programs to the Board at large for decision.
Board members are elected by the general membership, serve three year terms and are unpaid. Those individuals, who would like to be nominated to run for the Board must be an Overlee member (not a dependent of a Member) with an active membership, submit a bio to be printed in the January newsletter, and attend the Annual Membership meeting.
Members interested in serving on the Board should contact the Nominating Committee at boardnominations@overlee.org.
