Member Meeting Update

Thanks to the members who braved snow and wind to attend the General Member meeting on February 18th.

We conducted our primary Association business quickly- approving minutes from prior meetings and the annual Budget.  The Budget provides for no changes to dues and fees for the year.  More info can be found at Plans & Cards or the Newsletter.  The strategic plan was also discussed including the capital projects for this season.

We elected five directors to the board:  John Cocker and Cathy Ventura-Merkel return and Kate Bowers, Matt Hart and John Hartel join for their first terms.  Retiring Board Members, Liz Shipley, Chris Flynn, and Kevan Emmott were thanked for their service.

The Membership and Technology committees answered questions about new Member Services Technology (more info in Newsletter.) The most immediate change being- Membership Renewal will be online this year.  You will no longer receive a paper invoice in the mail. Payment options remain the same- either mail in a check or pay by credit card online (3% credit card fees apply to each transaction.)  Membership Renewal deadline is March 16th.  Look for emails with instructions or check the Member Portal.

The Operations team reported that the Operating Hours for this year are essentially the same as last year, except for a schedule quirk with the summer being extra long! (weeks between Memorial Day and Labor Day)  See Pool Hours for details.  The Human Resources committee gave an update on hiring and stressed all hiring rules must be followed.  (More Info at Hiring 2015)

Finally, the Chairpersons from various teams and activities gave updates.  See the Calendar and the specific webpages for more info.  The Swim and Dive teams were recognized for winning their respective Divisions last season.  Go Flying Fish!
