Member Update – June 14, 2024

Swim, Dive, and Synchro Teams Sock Hop – Wednesday, June 19 – 6:30pm-8:30pm

Kids on all three of the Overlee teams are welcome to attend an evening of dancing and games led by an amazing DJ! Kids will gather in the grassy area next to the club house, supervised by their team coaches and reps.
Parents with team kids who are 12 and under must stay on the pool grounds throughout the event. IMPORTANT: If you have a young child who leaves the grassy area to go swim or play foosball, etc., it will be the parents’ responsibility to watch his/her child.

Ice Cream Social – Sunday at 3:00 PM

The Overlee Board of Directors invites all members and their guests for an Ice Cream Social to celebrate the start of the summer season at the pool!

Ice Cream will be scooped starting at 3:00pm on Sunday, June 16th.

Summer Group Lessons Start Next Week: There are still openings for the Summer Group Lessons program, which starts next Tuesday, June 18th.

Overlee is opening up the afternoon lesson slots to non-members on a first-come, first-serve basis. The slots are now be available on the lesson sign-up website.

As a reminder, non-members need to leave the pool after the lessons have finished.

Board Seeking Nominees for New Directors: Under Overlee’s current Bylaws, the election of new members of the Board of Directors is held during the Summer Membership Meeting. This year, the meeting will be on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at 7:00pm.

We are seeking Association members who are interested in serving on the Board.* Board members act as the governing body for the Association. Board members can also be part of committees of interest, to include Social, Membership, IT/Communications, Operations, etc. A description of the Board’s roles and responsibilities can be found on the website in our Bylaws. If you are interested in running or finding out more information, please send an email to Board@overlee.org.

Swim Team (entire Lap Pool): 12:00 Noon – 3:00 PM

Synchro Team (entire Lap Pool): 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM

Dive Team (Dive Well): 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Adult Lessons with Kathy Koczyk (Lap Pool): 7:30 PM – 8:30PM (every Friday thru 8/30)

Lap Pool: 6:00 AM – 11:00 AM, 12 Noon – 3:30 PM, 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM (M-F), 9:00 PM – 10:00 PM (Tues, Thurs)

Swim Meet at Home vs. Donaldson Run (Monday, June 17): Main Pool (including dive well) closing at 4:45 PM; Lap Pool split for laps and general swimming beginning at 5:00 PM. If the meet ends prior to 8:15 PM, the Main Pool will re-open 15 minutes following meet ending and Lap Pool will return to 6 lanes of lap swimming.

Sock Hop (Wednesday, June 19, 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM): no impact on pools

Swim Team Practice: 7:00 AM – 10:00 AM (main pool daily), 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM (main pool, shared, daily), 11:00 AM – 12:00 Noon (lap pool, daily); 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM (lap pool M-Th)

Dive Team Practices: 10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon (M-F dive well); 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM (MWF dive well)

Synchro Practices: 8:00 AM – 9:45 AM (T-W-Th, dive well); 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM (Tues 6/18, dive well); 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM (Fri, lap pool)

Saturday, June 22

Swim Meet at Home vs Donaldson Run:

Lap Pool will open 3 lanes laps / 3 lanes general swim at 10 am

All Other Pools will open 15 minutes after the conclusion of the meet (estimated opening 12 Noon)

All Pools Close 9:00 PM

Sunday, June 23

All Pools: 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM

Lap Pool: 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM

Synchro: 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM (dive well)

Movie Night: 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM (no impact to pools)
