Many Overlee members desire their children learn to enjoy the water, to learn how to swim or to improve swimming techniques.  Many parents enroll in Group Lessons, but many seek more individualized instruction through Private Lessons.

Group lessons

Overlee hires staff who offer Group lessons for Members and Non-members.  Per Virginia Law, these Group Lesson Instructors must be at least 15 years of age, certified Lifeguards and pass additional training.  See Employment page for hiring info.

Private lessons

Overlee does NOT hire staff for Private Lessons, but as a service to Members, makes available pool space for private lessons and provides a Private Instructors List of those Independent Contractors meeting minimum requirements and available to contract with Members for private lessons.
