Manager’s Reminders

As the full summer season  schedule kicks off on Saturday, June 20th, we want to share these five reminders:

#5

Take care of the games
Please be gentle with the play items (ping pong, foosball, corn hole and badminton). These are communal items, and if they are unusable, it affects others in the community. (Please pass this reminder on to your children as well.)

#4

Safety Breaks at Quarter to each hour
Guards will signal a fifteen minute safety break at a quarter to each hour throughout the day. The safety break called a quarter hour to closing shall act as a reminder that members and guests should prepare to leave the premises by closing time. (Throughout the day, the manager on duty may forgo a safety break and permit the pools to remain open for swimmers of all ages.)
see Pool Hours, Activities and Schedule Updates on Calendar

#3

Do not jump or climb over fences
Please do not jump or climb over the fences for any reason, including getting a volleyball, meeting guests, etc.

#2

No Food or Drinks on Pool Deck (Except water)

No food or drink is allowed on the concrete pool deck, except for water. Please keep your food and drinks in the picnic areas and the Terraces by the Clubhouse. No glass is ever allowed on the pool deck and grassy areas, including the areas around the volleyball court.

#1

Clear ALL areas when Lifeguards signal for inclement weather
When inclement weather near Overlee, the lifeguards will signal with a break whistle. This signals that all members and guests must clear all pools, decks and the bathhouse IMMEDIATELY.  To ensure your safety, we ask that you not stand in the parking lot or picnic areas.

Top 5 Rules Mid Season

Manager’s Reminders

Overlee’s been open a few weeks and there are a few rules that we need to reiterate as we head into the busy season:

#5

When do you need prior manager approval for Guests?

  • weekdays-if you bring 10+
  • weekends-if you bring 5+

When do you need to rent the Clubhouse:

  • any time you bring 25+ guests to the pool
Overlee is more popular than ever! Our Manager needs to approve Large Groups so he can plan for proper staffing. Please be considerate of other members when placing towels to “reserve” Terrace and Park tables.

#2

VOLLEYBALLS: Managers and staff will open volleyball gate as needed to retrieve balls over fence. At no time should anyone climb fence to retrieve balls.

Please bear with us as we tweak our procedures to retrieve balls over the fence. We’ve purchased dozens more balls for adults and kids. We’re working with Arlington County to build a taller netting system to help keep the volleyballs inside our gates and fences
